Privacy policy
This policy is for readers wherever they are. Where EU or UK privacy law applies to you, we treat that as the standard for how this site handles personal data.

What we collect today
This site is a static publishing site. We do not run first-party analytics, heatmaps, or advertising pixels ourselves at the time this policy was written.
The hosting provider may automatically log technical data that is typical of any web server: IP address, date and time, requested URL, referrer, and browser user-agent. Those logs are used to operate and secure the site (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not use them to build marketing profiles.
If you email us, we process the address and message to reply (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and keep the thread only as long as needed for that correspondence.
Affiliate cookies when you click out
Product links may go to official brand sites (Nomatic, Osprey, Cotopaxi) and, later, to Amazon or other retailers. When you leave this site, those third parties may set their own cookies to attribute a purchase to this page (often 10–30 days on brand programmes; Amazon Associates is typically about 24 hours). That processing is their responsibility, under their own privacy notices. We do not see the contents of those cookies.
You can buy on the official product page without using our link. You pay the same listed price either way.
Google Ads and other ads (later)
We may run Google Search ads that send people to our own pages (not direct to merchants). If we later add Google Ads conversion tags, Google Analytics, or similar, those services can set cookies or use identifiers, including for people in the US and UK. We will update this policy before that happens and, where GDPR requires it, ask for consent before non-essential cookies.
The host or an ad network may also add their own tags in future. Anything we do not control will still be named here when we know it is active.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not ask you to create an account.
- We do not run a comment form or newsletter signup on these pages.
Transfers outside the EEA
If you click through to a US brand, Amazon, Google, or an affiliate network (for example Awin, AvantLink, or Partnerize), data may be processed in the United States or other countries. Those services rely on their own transfer tools (such as Standard Contractual Clauses). We do not control those transfers.
Your rights
If GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, or portability of personal data we hold, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Email contact@travelpackguide.com. Because we currently store almost no reader data beyond host logs and emails you send us, many requests will be a confirmation of that fact.
Retention
Server logs: whatever the host keeps as a security default (typically days to a few weeks). Emails: until the conversation is finished, then deleted unless we must keep them for a legal claim. Affiliate networks keep conversion records on their side under their own retention rules.
Children
This site is a buying guide for adult travellers. It is not directed at children.
Changes
If tracking, ads, or cookies on this domain change, we will date a new version of this page. The 2026 guide will keep its own FTC-style affiliate disclosure at the top.
